Youtubers appear to be a thing of the future, with people like Zoella, gaining popularity and inspiring the young faces of today. Josh Pieters is no exception and we were lucky enough to speak to him about what he has been up to as well as his thoughts on the brand new The Sims 4 City Living Expansion Package.

Q: So you have been a Youtuber for a while now, what made you decide to start making videos?

A: Well, I never thought that I would become a Youtuber, it all just sort of happened. I actually originally came over here, from South Africa, with plans to pursue a career in cricket. I joined the South Western Districts Under -19’s team and played for them for a while, but then I became ill. Unfortunately, half way through the season I got glandular fever which meant that I couldn’t play anymore. But, while I was recovering, I thought that it would be funny to start filming videos with my friends.

Q: Well that turned out to be a good idea! What kind of thing did you start filming?

A: Mainly, just us doing silly challenges or pranking each other as I found it funny. I would film the videos and then Casper (Lee) would help me edit them as he already had a Youtube channel.

Q: And you haven’t looked back since! What is your favourite thing about making videos?

A: I enjoy making the videos with my friends but of everything I actually find the viewers responses and feedback to my videos very rewarding.

Q: So let’s get chatting about this new The Sims 4 City Living expansion pack, what did you think of it?

A: I thought it was great! I have always loved The Sims but I thought that the new features of this City Living version were amazing, especially the range of activities that the characters are now able to do. For example, they can go to festivals or work from home!

Q: Thank you so much for doing this interview, I have one last question for you. What advice would you give to anyone who wanted to follow in your footsteps and become a successful Youtuber?

A: I would say, just be creative and original with your videos. Despite the time and effort needed to edit the footage taken, it is definitely worth it, just don’t give up.
